Your responsibilities will include:
- Selecting timber boards for sawing and machining
- Operating rip saws, bandsaws, beam saw and moulders to fulfil works orders
- Maximising yield from every piece of timber processed
- Accurately tallying sawn and machined timber onto production paperwork
- Stacking, banding and labelling completed orders safely and presentably
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe work area
Your experience will include:
- Previous experience operating machinery in a timber or sawmill environment
- A relevant certificate, diploma or degree in timber machining (preferred, not essential)
- Strong basic maths and a good standard of general education
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling of heavy timber
- Forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
- A methodical, disciplined and safety focused approach to work
