Lead financial transformation, drive strategy, and support a business through divestment and beyond. We are working exclusively with a purpose-led organisation undergoing a period of structured change and commercial evolution. With a project underway to divest a defined segment of its customer base, the business requires a commercially astute and operationally hands-on Interim CFO to support its leadership through a pivotal transition period.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for preparing the business for sale activity, overseeing financial due diligence, engaging directly with the acquiring party, and ensuring the operational and financial infrastructure of the remaining business is robust, agile, and fit for the future. This is a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract offering a pro rata salary of £110,000, ideal for an experienced finance leader with a proven track record in M&A, divestments, and transformation who can operate confidently at board level while staying grounded in delivery.
As Interim CFO, you will:
- Lead the financial and operational preparation for the sale of a defined customer base
- Own the project plan and manage all aspects of financial due diligence and acquisition readiness
- Structure, streamline, and stabilise the business through pre-sale, transition, and post-sale phases
- Operate as the key liaison for the acquiring party, ensuring transparent and accurate data exchange
- Oversee forecasting, reporting, and risk management with a strong commercial lens
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of a permanent CFO and contribute to the restructuring of the finance function
- Collaborate with the Operations Director to assess and deliver a future-fit software system
Your experience will include:
- Leading financial planning and restructuring projects, including business unit separation
- Direct involvement in M&A, specifically in divestments, due diligence, and transitional finance
- Exposure to systems transformation such as WMS and ERP implementations
- Operating as a strategic partner to CEOs and senior stakeholders, with a proven ability to influence cross-functionally
- Translating complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable decisions in fast-paced environments
This is a rare opportunity to join a values-led business and deliver at pace, bringing clarity, commercial rigour, and confidence through a critical period of change. If you are ready to make a high-impact contribution and lead a business through meaningful transformation, contact Jess or Grace at Rubicon Executive for a confidential conversation or apply directly for the Interim CFO opportunity.
