Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a TP141 Commissioning Engineer on a 3 year contract, based in Norfolk This role falls OUTSIDE IR35 Role Summary This is a fantastic long-term contract opportunity (3 years) to work on high-voltage (HV) substation and grid connection projects supporting the UK\'s energy transition. You will play a key role in delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality commissioning activities in accordance with National Grid TP141 standards. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and execute commissioning activities on HV substations (132kV–400kV) * Ensure compliance with TP141 procedures and National Grid technical standards * Perform functional testing of protection systems, control panels, and HV equipment * Oversee end-to-end commissioning plans, risk assessments, and method statements * Liaise with site teams, project managers, and DNO/NG representatives to ensure alignment * Produce technical documentation, commissioning reports, and test records * Support fault diagnosis and rectification during energisation and commissioning phases * Maintain high standards of HSE on site Requirements: * Valid TP141 Authorisation * Proven experience in HV commissioning (132kV to 400kV) * Familiarity with National Grid and/or DNO project environments * Strong knowledge of protection systems, relays, and electrical testing procedures * Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, and technical specifications * Excellent documentation and reporting skills * Strong communication and leadership abilities Desirable: * Experience working on grid connection or offshore wind substation projects * Relevant electrical engineering qualifications (HNC/HND or higher) Our Company Rubicon Consulting is a Talent management consultancy which helps you to optimise business performance and competitive advantage by choosing the right people first time
