Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Setting Out Engineer on a 6 month rolling contract, located in Dorset.
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer with a strong civil engineering background and proven delivery on substation and infrastructure projects. The role involves accurate site setting out and engineering control, working closely with project teams and subcontractors to support safe, efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out setting out duties across civils and substation works using Leica GPS, total stations, and associated survey equipment.
- Interpret and interrogate design information, drawings, and technical documentation to ensure accuracy and buildability.
- Coordinate effectively with site teams, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Maintain detailed site records, QA documentation, and as-built information.
- Identify and resolve technical and design-related issues proactively.
Requirements
- Strong civils background, ideally with substation or power sector experience.
- Proficient in Leica GPS and total station systems.
- Ability to review and interrogate engineering designs.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to integrate within project teams and subcontractors.
- Proven site-based engineering experience with a focus on accuracy and delivery.
