Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a SPEN Authorised Site Supervisor on a 2 month contract, based in Scotland.

Role Overview

Our Client is seeking an experienced SPEN Authorised Site Supervisor to oversee substation projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant site operations. This role is suited to a professional with a strong supervisory background in a non-working (management) capacity, combined with solid civil engineering experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all site activities on substation projects
  • Ensure full compliance with SPEN regulations, health & safety standards, and company procedures
  • Manage subcontractors, operatives, and site personnel effectively
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and method statement reviews (RAMS)
  • Monitor project progress, quality, and timelines
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate site records and reports
  • Ensure works are carried out safely, on time, and within scope

Requirements

  • SPEN Authorisation (essential)
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification
  • Proven experience in a site supervisory role (non-working)
  • Strong background in civil engineering works (preferred over purely electrical/mechanical)
  • Experience working on substation or infrastructure projects
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Strong understanding of health & safety regulations

Desirable

  • Previous experience on energy or utilities projects
  • First Aid qualification
  • Temporary Works or other relevant site certifications
