Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for Section Engineer on a 6 Month Contract, based in Rochester.
Role Summary
To lead the planning, engineering control, and supervision of allocated work sections, ensuring all activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards, contractual requirements, and programme objectives. The role is responsible for supervising subcontractors, monitoring the daily progress of civil engineering works, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing site safety and environmental compliance.
- Reviewing and implementing RAMS.
- Resolving technical issues.
- Proactively identifying and mitigating project risks.
- Leading all aspects of quality management, including the development of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality check sheets, audits, and quality assurance processes across the supply chain.
- Effectively managing, investigating, and closing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
Key Tasks
- Manage technical aspects of construction, from design review to site execution.
- Solve complex on-site engineering problems.
- Planning, coordinating, and managing daily activities, materials, procurement, storage, handling, logistics.
- Be the subject matter expert in civil engineering activities, and in control of technical and quality throughout current and future activities.
Key Results / Objectives
- Ensuring all work complies with contract drawings, specifications, and good practice, maintaining quality records.
- Acting as the primary technical point of contact, resolving issues, and providing solutions to the site team and subcontractors.
- Plan, coordinate, and control resources.
Requirements
- A history of being a civil engineer, from Site Engineer to Snr Engineer, to Section Engineer.
- Experience and knowledge in multidiscipline activities, civil engineering practices, building services, electrical and mechanical etc.
- Can demonstrate a wide variety of supply chain control with specification control and documentation appraisal.
- A solid knowledge of modern methods of construction, UK specification including SHW.
- A minimum of 4 years working in a similar role.
Qualifications Essential
- CSCS Card / CCNSG Safety Passport.
- HNC / HND in Civil Engineering.
- Manual Handling.
- Working at Height.
- Fire safety awareness.
- IPAF.
- First Aid.
- Fully familiar with IT tools.
