Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer 11kV SAP on a permanent basis, located in UK. Job Purpose: We seek an experienced, talented, and focused HV ‘Senior Authorised Person’ to join our dynamic team currently delivering installation, maintenance, and product support services for HV assets across the South of England or Scotland. Business Overview: The Client is an international leader in intelligent secondary power distribution products and solutions, with features such as remote operation and monitoring. Linking energy generation to consumption, the business specialises in high-performance medium and low-voltage switchgear for utility, industrial and commercial applications. Job Context: You will work as part of a highly skilled Engineering division supporting all aspects of HV services to our clients and customers. As part of our team you will get to both support your peers in the delivery of HV engineering and also be required to lead projects when called on. We strive forwards as a team advancing our technical skills, knowledge, and competencies together, whilst ensuring a flexible work life balance is worked into our ethos. Key Accountabilities: These will include: * Lead the delivery of a range of major projects through to smaller day works. This could cover a range of activities from CDM construction projects, HV asset maintenance, repairs, upgrades, to Client Product support. * Plan outages, produce switching programmes and other safety paperwork for HV switching activities. * Assess safety and apply controls and safety measures required. * Completing RAMS, job packs, test certificates and reports. * Facilitate a safe working environment during high / low voltage working. * Installation, refurbishment, maintenance of HV equipment. * Interpret electrical drawings and records. * Carry out electrical testing and fault finding. * Carry out mechanical modifications and repairs. * Complete assessment and completion reports. * Schedule and coordinate site work with a range of engineers, sub-contractors, and utilities companies. * Assist in the management job costing, material specifications and logistics. * Maintain Senior Authorised Person competence. * Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures of the Client and its customers. * Maintain all authorisations in accordance with legislative our safety procedures and industry best practice. * Liaise closely with team to understand and manage priorities. * Attend training and continuous development opportunities as required. Desirable: – Electrical commissioning. – Fault finding. – Training. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience * Proven track record of experience in the Electrical and/or distribution Industry. * Holds SAP Authorisation – UKPN, SSEN, other DNO * Certified in electricity at work and experience of delivering efficient and effective services to customers whether on site or at a planning stage from an office environment. * Good knowledge of H&S and its practical implications. * Good knowledge of Distribution Safety rules and their application. * Computer literate – skilled in MS office * Technically qualified with a BTEC, C&G or equivalent apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering * Full driver’s License, willingness to travel and work weekends as overtime or with a day off in the week. Desirable: – Have, or held authorisations – Private Networks, UKPN, WPD or other DNO – Training – first aid, IPAF, PASMA, SMSTS – 18th edition / 2391 inspection & testing – Mentoring of trainees. – Willingness to work weekends and call outs.
