Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Lead Commissioning Engineer on a 10 Month Contract, based in Scotland.
Role Summary
The Lead Commissioning Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing commissioning activities for high-voltage (HV) transmission substations and related infrastructure. This includes ensuring systems are safely energized, tested, and handed over in compliance with technical standards, regulations, and project timelines.
- Lead and oversee commissioning activities for HV transmission substations and associated equipment.
- Manage and coordinate site teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved.
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation in line with industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all project phases.
- Perform testing, inspection, and validation of HV systems including transformers, switchgear, protection, and control systems.
- Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning to ensure optimal system performance.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and site personnel.
- Liaise with clients and project managers to deliver updates, reports, and technical guidance.
