Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for Offshore QA/QC Inspector on a 12 month contract based in Inverness.

Role Summary

As QA/QC Inspector, you will play a critical role in offshore quality inspections, ensuring alignment with project requirements as specified in the Project Quality Plan (PQP), procedures, and relevant Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs). Your expertise will help guarantee the quality and safety of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) installed and commissioned offshore, contributing to the successful execution of the Project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for customer QA/QC representatives during WTG installation, pre-energization, and final walkdowns; identify potential issues or discrepancies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and monitor corrective actions.
  • Plan and coordinate inspection readiness for WTGs in collaboration with vessel Supervisors and the Offshore Quality Coordinator.
  • Review and approve Method Statements, Risk Assessment Checklists, and other quality records immediately following offshore activities.
  • Actively participate in the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) program to ensure a safe work environment; report non-compliance issues as required.
  • Implement the Project Quality Plan and support procedures at the work site.
  • Conduct inspections in accordance with Offshore Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring full compliance with quality standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives by sharing feedback and lessons learned for each load-out with the Global Supply Chain.
  • Collaborate with the Document Control Team to manage offshore documentation.
  • Identify, record, report, and proactively resolve deviations, defects, or non-conformities arising during inspections; ensure all findings are documented in the Software system.
  • Support completions, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning teams in validating closure of outstanding works and punch list items.
  • Report concerns related to the preservation of main components against acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in parallel with operations and shared with the client in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Vessel Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions.

  • Predominantly outdoor working conditions
  • Significant periods working at heights

Essential Characteristics and Qualifications:

  • GWO Training Certification
  • Demonstrated experience in the offshore wind industry as a mechanical, electrical, commissioning, and/or quality inspector
  • Technical/engineering education and qualification in mechanical or electrical disciplines
  • Familiarity with site safety and quality standards, including ISO9001 and ISO14001
  • Knowledge of fabrication, assembly, NDT, coatings techniques, and HV electrical systems
  • Self-motivated and organized with a proactive approach to work
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
