Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for an Offshore Heavy lift- Health and Safety Advisor on a 12 month contract based in Offshore.
Role Summary
Your primary responsibility is to ensure the health and safety of all personnel working on offshore wind farm projects. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety programs to prevent accidents and injuries. The role ensures compliance with relevant legislation, client requirements, and company standards while promoting a strong safety culture across all offshore activities.
Job Description:
- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures for offshore renewable projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and risks, and take necessary actions to address them.
- Provide safety training and ongoing support to all personnel within our Heavy Lift business unit to promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers, Vessel site managers, and other stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into all aspects of project planning and execution.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and continuously improve safety standards in offshore operations.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions via the Enablon management system to prevent future occurrences.
- Prepare and maintain safety reports, documentation, and records as required by senior management.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.
- Coordinate safety training programs for employees to ensure they are aware of risks and know how to work safely.
- Monitor and review safety performance metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Travel as required to support the business needs.
Requirements
- Level 3 (or equivalent) Occupational Health and Safety - Essential
- Level 6 (or equivalent) Occupational Health and Safety – Desirable
- Experience working in the offshore wind industry or a similar high-risk environment.
- Experience of heavy lifting operations and major component exchanges - Desirable
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
