Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Planner on a 6 month contract, based in Norwich. Our Client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project Planner to join their team. As a Project Planner, you will play a crucial role within the team in ensuring the successful execution of our engineering projects in the energy sector by developing, implementing, and monitoring project schedules/plans.

  • Utilise planning software (preferably Primavera P6) to track and monitor project progress, as well as support delivery forecasting/look-aheads.
  • Utilise planning software (preferably Primavera P6) to develop and support change/impact programmes with the wider delivery teams.
  • Develop comprehensive project execution plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
  • Analyse the project requirements and create detailed work breakdown structures.
  • Identify potential programme risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify all project requirements and agree timescales.
  • Conduct resource forecasting and optimisation to improve project efficiency.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets and cost estimates, through programme utilisation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for planning processes.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering industry or related field.
  • Strong Knowledge of NEC form of contract essential.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage complex project schedules.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience in construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of construction methodologies and techniques.
  • Understanding of project scheduling and resource allocation principles.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
