Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter on a 5 Month Contract based in Basingstoke.
Role Summary
Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for experienced Mechanical Fitters to support a major 132/33kV substation project in Basingstoke. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term infrastructure project, carrying out the installation and mechanical assembly of high-voltage primary plant equipment within a substation environment. Working as part of an experienced site team, you will be responsible for the safe installation of mechanical equipment while ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical installation of primary plant equipment on a 132/33kV substation.
- Installation and assembly of disconnectors, circuit breakers, current transformers (CTs), voltage transformers (VTs) and associated HV equipment.
- Installation of support steelwork, busbars, insulators and associated mechanical components.
- Mechanical assembly, alignment and installation of substation plant.
- Carry out torque tightening to manufacturer specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, GA drawings and installation manuals.
- Assist with lifting operations and positioning of heavy plant.
- Complete installation records and quality documentation.
- Work safely in accordance with site procedures, RAMS.
