Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for Assistant Quantity Surveyor on a 6 month Contract, based in Manchester.
Role Summary
To provide commercial and administrative support to the project team, ensuring payment applications, cost control activities, and contract administration tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Payment Applications & Cost Management
- Prepare and support the submission of periodic payment applications (two per period) in accordance with the application timetable.
- Ensure accuracy of all applications through detailed review of supporting evidence.
- Create and maintain clear hyperlink references to supporting documents, ensuring all links function correctly and attachments are complete prior to submission.
- Assist with periodic cost reconciliations, helping reduce Work in Progress (WIP) and converting it into 'applied-for' value through timely and accurate applications.
- Assist with raising Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and pricing Compensation Events via CEMAR in line with contract procedures.
- Support the team with general commercial administration across the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to procurement activities, including preparation of contract documentation and tender-related materials.
- Liaise with subcontractors to obtain quotes, clarify requirements, and support ongoing commercial relationships.
- Assist with raising purchase orders (POs) and material requisitions in line with project and company procedures.
- Provide support on various ad-hoc commercial tasks as required by the team.
Requirements
- Strong Facilities Management (FM) experience.
- A proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of financial/commercial processes.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all work.
- Understanding of payment applications and how to compile them (training will be provided).
