Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for Senior Quantity Surveyor on a Permanent Basis, based in Birmingham.\\n\\nRole Summary\\n\\nThe opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in UK’s & Ireland’s Building Services sector.\\n\\nOur client’s design, develop and deliver a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative, and\\n\\nsustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Europe.\\n\\nRole Overview:\\n\\nWe are hiring for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to specialise within the Decarbonisation sector.\\n\\nOn our Projects within the Decarbonisation Sector, we assume role of the Main Contractor,\\n\\nmeaning we have control of all elements of the build; Civils, Construction, Building Fabric,\\n\\nSolar, M&E etc.\\n\\nWhat You’ll be Doing:\\n\\n• Be responsible for securing the successful financial delivery of projects by controlling costs, progressing monthly valuations, and managing variations and change orders.\\n\\n• Liaising with contracts, estimating and pre-construction teams to obtain full understanding of each project scope.\\n\\n• Review and set out project package allowances prior to handover for tendering of works by operations team.\\n\\n• Review & collate subcontractor package awards.\\n\\n• Engage Sub-contractors, handle negotiations, prepare sub-contract documents.\\n\\n• Review and interrogate new and existing contracts, orders, and suppliers to ensure associated terms and conditions are relevant and acceptable.\\n\\n• Track & maintain monthly job performance reporting and feedback the same to Lead QS.\\n\\n• Prepare on-time monthly valuations following site measurements and work-in-progress reviews and follow up to make sure that payments are received on time as per the agreed contract conditions.\\n\\n• Vette and process monthly subcontractor payments.\\n\\n• Attend monthly commercial meetings to provide update on any ongoing contract specific negotiations and overall job performance.\\n\\n• Assist in the commercial activities of the business and provide support/advice in this regard to the Projects Managers as required.\\n\\n• Attend sites as required (England primarily, but may extend to Wales, Scotland or\\n\\nIreland – dependant on workload and project awards).\\n\\nRequirements\\n\\n• Third level qualification in a Surveying or Cost Engineering discipline or can demonstrate an equivalent level of experience.\\n\\n• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Commercial role.\\n\\n• Commercially astute and ambitious.\\n\\n• Strong contractual knowledge of both JCT and NEC Forms of Contract.\\n\\n• High standard of organisational and time management skills.\\n\\n• High level of IT literacy, especially in Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).\\n\\n• Current UK Driving License.\\n\\nOur Company\\n\\nRubicon Consulting is a Talent management consultancy which helps you to optimise business performance and competitive advantage by choosing the right people first time
