Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for an EHS Manager on a 3‐month contract based in Staffordshire.

Role Summary

The EHS Manager is responsible for ensuring that an organization and its employees adhere to EHS standards and our Life‐Saving Rules. The EHS Manager is responsible for shaping and maintaining the organisation's safety culture. His/Her duties include implementing organisational safety rules, promoting a culture of safety in the workplace and performing regular site inspections to check compliance in order to prevent incidents, minimise resource leakage, improve efficiency and employee satisfaction at all levels. The EHS Manager shall conduct safety training for relevant employees at the site. He/She also collaborates with other departments such as GSC operations, facility management, quality, etc. The EHS Manager works across various departments within the business, reviewing safety measures to save lives and improve working standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the EHS strategy aligned with corporate goals and local regulatory requirements for his/her site.
  • Lead EHS performance for his/her site, supporting his/her cross‐functional site leadership team.
  • Drive continuous improvement through performance metrics, audits and risk assessments.
  • Review and build safety risk assessments applicable for the tasks.
  • Review all work procedures and ensure they meet our, client and industry safety standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with UK EHS laws, regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on business operations.
  • Establish injury prevention initiatives focused on world‐class health and safety performance and conduct incident investigations.
  • Feedback on lessons learned and best practice from other sites and client sites to management and employees.
  • Reports on EHS performance and progress on implementation of EHS objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Oversee and ensure safe work of external contractors.
  • Conduct in‐house training sessions on health and safety awareness.
  • Act as an ambassador by planning, implementing, reviewing and monitoring the EHS management system.
  • Interact with other client and our sites and EHS managers in order to share and leverage best practices.
  • Implementation and adherence to the EHS management system.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all setting‐to‐work procedures are followed.
  • Ensure works are delivered to a programme whilst maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.
  • Produce reports and provide information in a timely manner.
  • Provide sufficient and timely supervision and guidance to ensure staff and sub‐contractors are performing to agreed production levels.
  • Maintain own levels of skill and knowledge to do the job effectively.
  • Perform other duties as directed by your line manager or management team.
  • Comply with the relevant Company HSQE and welfare policy provisions.
  • Support clients and ensure all agreed KPIs are met or exceeded.
  • Promote best practice, capture best practice and ensure it is fed‐back into the business.
  • Lead by example in health, safety, quality and environmental management.
  • Ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout the project and assist with the generation of as‐built drawings.
  • Assist with the implementation of safe systems of work, including issuing permits to dig.
  • Set others to work and monitor throughout the task or project.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive EHS experience in a multinational or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of French and EU EHS regulations.
  • Certification in ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or equivalent standards is a plus.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience managing cross‐site teams.
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English (written and verbal).
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organisation and work in a culturally diverse environment.
