We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Associate Civil Engineer to join our leadership team. This role will take strategic and technical responsibility for the delivery of non-infrastructure water sector projects, including water and wastewater treatment works, across the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the delivery of multidisciplinary non-infrastructure projects within the water sector.
- Act as technical lead and project director on key accounts, managing project risk, performance, and outcomes.
- Oversee and assure the quality of all civil engineering outputs, ensuring technical excellence and compliance.
- Support Directors with strategic planning, team development, and business growth initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to senior, mid-level, and junior engineers across multiple projects.
- Contribute to bids, frameworks, and business development activities.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of health, safety, and quality.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to maintain technical leadership within the water sector.
- Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the organisation.
- BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) with relevant professional body (E.g. ICE, IStructE, CIWEM).
- Minimum 12 years’ experience in civil engineering, with significant exposure to UK water sector non-infrastructure projects.
- Proven leadership in managing project delivery teams and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Deep technical knowledge of civil design reinforced concrete structures, foundations, and site infrastructure.
- Familiarity with UK water industry standards, including design codes, regulatory requirements, and delivery frameworks.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience with budgeting, fee proposals, and contract administration.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
