We are looking for a full-time Chef to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our customers. You will assist the Head Chef and Management with the smooth running of the kitchen whilst maintaining expenditure within stipulated budget limits. In the absence of the Head Chef, supervise day‑to‑day responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Take instruction from the Head Chef.
  • Assist the Kitchen team in daily preparation and cooking of food, keeping in mind a high standard of food service.
  • Serve and prepare food that should be served promptly and presented professionally.
  • Maintain a good understanding of menu options.
  • Responsible for taking and recording food/refrigerator temperatures within designated areas.
  • Inform the Head Chef of food supplies required within the assigned sections.
  • Ensure all equipment is functional and used correctly.
  • Ensure that all work areas are cleaned and maintained to appropriate health and safety standards.
  • Support the kitchen assistants with cleaning of cooking utensils as required.
  • Maintain cost awareness: portion sizes, limit waste, use cost‑effective menu options.
  • Coach and support less experienced chefs.
  • Maintain all Health & Safety measures and ensure all legal and company requirements are adhered to.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach in line with business requirements.
  • Attend training courses and on‑the‑job training to progress within chef levels.

Skills:

  • Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook.
  • Hands‑on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g., grillers).
  • Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks.
  • Excellent time‑management abilities.
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes.
  • Familiarity with sanitation regulations.

Experience, Languages and Employment:

  • Experience: required.
  • Languages: English – Advanced.
  • Employment: Full‑time.
  • Schedule: Monday – Sunday, 5 days per week.
  • Salary: £13 – £15 per hour.
