Rubberatkins is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Testing Technician to join our Research & Development team in Aberdeen.
This is a workshop/control room role focused on supporting the development of innovative elastomer products through testing, particularly in high-pressure, high-temperature environments. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our products meet the highest standards by assembling test rigs, executing test procedures, and analysing results.
Working closely with the R&D Engineers, you’ll contribute to both product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and build test rigs in line with technical drawings and procedures
- Conduct testing in accordance with defined protocols
- Accurately record and maintain test data and results
- Assist in the development and improvement of test procedures
- Collaborate with engineering and inspection teams on non-conformances
- Investigate test failures and contribute to design improvements
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment in line with QHSE standards
- Support ISO 9001 quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- A methodical approach with strong attention to detail
- Experience in pressure testing
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems (desirable)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Practical problem-solving skills in an engineering environment
- Competence with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with SCADA systems (desirable)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts
Qualifications -
- NQ / HNC / HND (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
This role will cover a two shift pattern, 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm, rotating on a weekly basis.
