Due to internal progression, we have an exciting opportunity for a confident and driven leader to join our Aberdeen Workshop as a Shift Team Leader.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires someone who can inspire, support, and challenge their team to consistently achieve high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.

You will be responsible for leading from the front, making sound decisions in a fast-paced environment, and creating a culture where people can perform at their best while continuously developing their skills.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will play a key role in delivering operational success by balancing production performance with strong people leadership.

What You\'ll Be Responsible For

As Shift Team Leader, you will

  • Lead, motivate, and develop your team to achieve performance, quality, and production targets.
  • Create a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture where individuals are encouraged to grow and succeed.
  • Work closely with the Production Manager to deliver daily production plans and adapt priorities to meet changing business requirements.
  • Monitor quality standards and workmanship across your shift, ensuring products consistently meet company and customer expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, productivity, and team performance.
  • Take ownership of production issues, investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure reject rates remain within target levels and proactively address any emerging concerns.
  • Carry out regular inspections of compression and injection moulding operations to ensure optimum machine performance and early identification of potential issues.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and workplace organisation across your shift.
  • Provide regular coaching, constructive feedback, and support to help individuals develop and achieve their potential.
  • Conduct performance reviews and annual appraisals, setting clear expectations and development goals.
  • Manage day-to-day people matters including absence management, return-to-work interviews, and supporting disciplinary or grievance processes when required.
  • Ensure accurate completion of production, stock, and personnel documentation.

  • Good numerical, administrative, and computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • An understanding of personnel policies, procedures, and employee relations practices.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles would be advantageous.

This role operates on a rotating three-shift pattern
