About the role: Raytheon UK’s Courseware and Media Development Capability (CMDC) is looking for Instructional Designers to support training development of our training materials.

Skills and Experience Requirements

  • Design, develop, and implement training solutions within Articulate Storyline that enhance learner engagement.
  • Apply instructional design theories and adult learning principles to create high-quality learning experiences.
  • Ensure instructional materials align with best practices and internal quality standards.
  • Must be organised and work well both independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to comprehend/interpret technical and non-technical information and apply it to visual media and animations.
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Ability to use MS Office (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
  • To effectively communicate with stakeholders outside of the CMDC team to gather technical information necessary for media requirements.
  • The successful candidate must be able to qualify for SC security clearance.
  • Desirable Experience using Moodle or working with an LMS.
  • Previous experience of developing high-quality courses for digital learning & training.
  • Creation of animation sequences exploiting effective asset management and workflow.
  • Visualising and planning of content and media along a timeline.
  • Knowledge of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).

Responsibilities

  • Produce engaging articulate storyline builds for our customer’s training courses in accordance with Courseware / Media production process, Development Manual and Style Guide.
  • Creation of courses exploiting effective asset management and workflow.
  • Visualising and planning of content and media along a timeline.
  • Comply with Raytheon and Customer policies.
  • Carry out any other reasonable task such as assisting the other areas within Raytheon when required.
  • Employees are responsible for their own Health and Safety and that of work colleagues and customers.
  • The nature of Customer’s training requires a high degree of flexibility for all Raytheon staff; there may be a requirement for travel to other sites within the UK.
  • Be responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Any other duties required to complete the CMDC Training Service.

The ideal candidate has a background in content design for digital learning and is comfortable working within a standardised development environment, thinks creatively, is confident, excels in a collaborative team atmosphere, and is detail oriented. A professional attitude, ability to follow technical and workflow processes, and solid communication skills are essential.
