At Prestwick Service Centre, we specialize in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft engine nacelle systems and engine components. We take pride in fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where every team member plays a vital role in our shared success.
We are excited to offer an opportunity for Mechanic Inspectors to join our Operational Business Units.
What You Will Do- Engaging in hands-on, detailed work, including the disassembly, repair, and assembly of aircraft nacelle components.
- Reading and interpreting technical data, such as manuals, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and engineering drawings.
- Upholding high standards of quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
- Contributing ideas for process improvements and helping drive positive change.
The role requires flexibility in a rapidly evolving global aviation market. Dayshift/back-shift rotation will be required in the role (with associated competitive premiums) and will be complemented with comprehensive training working within a culture based on positive assumptions that supports personal growth and development.
Shifts- Weekly Hours: 37
- Shifts: Early/Back Shift Rotation
- Early Shift – Mon- Thurs: 6am - 2.30pm, Fri: 6am - 11am
- Backshift – Mon-Thurs: 2.15pm - 10.45pm, Fri: 10.45am - 3.45pm

- Experience: Industry specifics/insights, practical/hands-on skills that will be gained, exposure to the latest tools and technologies in the industry.
- Time served in a relevant discipline (with trade papers or an equivalent mechanical qualification)
- Good hands skills through experience working in a mechanical or engineering discipline.
- Taking ownership and accountability to work independently, as part of a team, and communicate priorities as required.
- Excellent communication skills
- Candidates will be required to demonstrate numerical, literacy and computer literacy skills.
- Compliance with all Collins Aerospace policies and procedures inclusive of EH&S, Code of Ethics, Intellectual Property, and ITC requirements
- Previous experience in aviation maintenance repair and overhaul environment would be highly beneficial but not essential.
- Experience of aircraft composite structures and repairs would be highly beneficial.
- Experience of fastener removal and installation would be highly beneficial
- Experience of engine build up including the use of calibrated measurement equipment, and torquing applications would be highly beneficial
- SAP experience (or similar operating systems) would be advantageous although not essential
- An understanding of the principles of Lean/Continuous Improvement would be advantageous.
