The Warehouse and Distribution operative is responsible for the control of the inventory stock within the business and is responsible for the flow of materials and components in and out of the stores into other departments and customers. Packing and securing items in a controlled environment following a set process. To undertake the physical handling of packed orders and associated administration tasks, following set processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understanding of the use of MRP computer systems
- Physical inventory accounting & reporting through Cycle Counting
- Management of excess stock physically and on MRP system in line with accounts procedures. Maintain MRP system stock accuracy.
- Issue of parts and material to a works & Sales order(s) using the appropriate procedure.
- Visual Inspection, Counting and checking of incoming materials and components.
- General administration and filing
- Supporting the Business in the implementation of Continuous Improvement and Health and safety initiatives
- Receive cartons and pallets into the dispatch area from several other areas of the business. Check and record paperwork and information received with cartons.
- Cross reference information received against database to determine method of shipment.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience working in a Warehouse and Distribution role is essential
- Basic computer skills
- Stock checks and cycle counting experience
- Accuracy and an eye for detail
- Great team player with a can-do attitude
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Previous use of MRP Computer systems
- Forklift experience would be an advantage
