Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out First Article Mechanical Inspections of aerospace industry component parts and sub-assemblies to the AS9102 standard.
- Finalizing First Article Inspection Reports, recording the data on MRP computer system.
- Develop and maintain electronic file system.
- Managing and controlling equipment calibration.
- Supporting business processes and personnel in continuous improvement activities in addition to providing information concerning product and process quality performance.
- Liaising with suppliers to resolve customer issues, promoting customer confidence and satisfaction.
- Supporting the New Product Introduction process through quality planning and implementation, liaising with internal functions and suppliers.
- Ensuring all quality data is captured and analysed against targets taking action on adverse variation to standard.
Required Skills & Experience:
- CMM Experience desired. Use of the MCOSMOS software is an advantage.
- The suitable candidate will have a strong quality and / or aerospace background gained within medium to high volume manufacturing.
- Competent in the use of handheld measuring (Verniers, Height Gauge, Micrometers) and reading and understanding drawing requirements including geometrical tolerances.
- Continuous Improvement and 5S Mindset.
- Able to read, understand and interpret engineering information.
- Effective communicator at all levels both verbal and written.
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- IT literate – Effective use of Microsoft Office software; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access.
- The ideal candidate should have experience and intermediate knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access etc).
- Experience of MRP Systems.
- Working knowledge of AS9102.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Aerospace manufacturing industry experience is desirable – a minimum of 2yrs in a machine shop is essential.
- Continuous Improvement and LEAN Manufacturing experience is desirable.
