Role and Responsibilities
Sitting within the Cyber Security Team, the Cyber Security Architect will play a critical role in ensuring that Raytheon UK remain compliant with a range of internal and external security accreditations, standards and control sets. We are seeking a highly motivated and technically capable Cyber Security professional to develop into a security architect role within a fast-paced, governance-led environment. This role is designed for individuals with strong foundational experience who are ready to transition from hands-on engineering or operational security into architecture, design assurance, and strategic security leadership.
You will work with security leadership and the wider department to shape secure-by-design solutions, influence engineering practices and embed security into enterprise programmes.
Essential Experience
- 3 to 7 years experience in cyber security, infrastructure, or systems engineering.
- Background in roles such as: Security Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, SOC Analyst (with strong technical depth)
- Strong understanding of; Networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, segmentation), Operating systems (Windows/Linux), Identity and access management concepts, Cloud Fundamentals.
- Exposure to security tooling (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR)
- Strong understanding of core security principles such as: Defence in depth, Least privilege, Zero trust concepts
- An understanding of designing and implementing secure systems to HMG security requirements.
- Experience managing complex technology estates, with differing risk profiles.
Desirable
- Information Security related certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, GSEC, SSCP
