What You Will Do

  • The Fighter & Mobility (F&M) Associate Director, Business Development, will identify, qualify, shape, and capture new business in the European market for P&W products across F&M and the entire Military Engines (ME) portfolio.
  • This person will be an integral member of the F&M and ME business development teams and provide input and support to various campaign pursuits.
  • We are seeking a top-performing individual who can develop and execute strategic campaign pursuit plans, conduct competitive analysis, develop and sustain customer relationships and manage proposals - all towards the objective of capturing new business for P&W’s Military Engines business.

This is a remote position, and the candidate must be a European Citizen and reside in Europe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, qualify, shape, and capture new business opportunities.
  • Work with internal program leaders and key sales and strategy leaders to identify new business and partnering opportunities.
  • Review multiple data sources to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Track and trend government budgets for defined opportunities.
  • Develop and execute business capture plans.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research.
  • Detailed understanding of the industry and competitive landscape through primary research and engagement with customers and other stakeholders.
  • Generate detailed knowledge of customers’ needs, behaviours, how to satisfy these needs, and the value delivered.
  • Provide input into product and technology roadmaps to meet future customer needs.
  • Build, develop, and lead bid and proposal teams to win campaigns.
  • Provide strategic guidance in the development and execution of proposals and subsequent negotiations.
  • Lead efforts to evaluate opportunities, generate win themes, and create white papers.
  • Execute bid process by developing compliant proposals and participating in negotiations for new business.
  • Provide business modelling and analytics to support bid/no-bid decisions and other business gate reviews.
  • Understand and influence other internal organizations and stakeholders to ensure capture success.

Travel Requirements: 25% minimum, Domestic and International

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in military aerospace market, military experience can count towards this.
  • Prior Business Development experience.
  • Solid understanding of EU military aerospace markets.
  • Prior experience working in the EU with country governments and weapon systems contractors.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Prior military experience.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, complex problem solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to work in a highly complex matrixed organization to accomplish the mission.
  • Ability to collaborate with all stakeholders to close on new business.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
