About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on supporting children and young people with sensory processing difficulties, motor challenges, and emotional well-being needs within an educational setting. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions, working collaboratively with families, schools, and multidisciplinary professionals to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on the management and care of children with sensory processing difficulties, motor challenges, and emotional well-being needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive, holistic assessments and produce high-quality reports within agreed deadlines.
  • Develop and implement individualised occupational therapy intervention plans.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, teaching staff, and external professionals to ensure effective intervention delivery.
  • Manage complex cases, using strong negotiation and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Monitor and adapt interventions based on client progress and needs.
  • Deliver specialist training to education staff and other professionals.
  • Promote children and young people’s rights and advocate for best practice.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional standards.
  • Contribute to service development, policy work, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in supervision, appraisal, and ongoing professional development.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registered
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience, including paediatric occupational therapy
  • Strong clinical knowledge of occupational therapy models and evidence-based practice
  • Ability to manage workload independently and prioritise effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Competent IT skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (daily travel required)

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience supporting the development of students or junior staff
  • Sensory Integration Module 2 qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • ADOS-2 qualification or willingness to undertake training
