We're now looking for an experienced

Finance Manager to join our leadership team in Holbeck.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused finance professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, leading people and influencing business performance.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll lead a small finance team whilst taking ownership of project accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial business partnering across our construction and infrastructure operations.

The Role

This is a varied and high-impact role, balancing financial leadership with hands-on project accounting responsibilities.

You'll be responsible for

  • Leading the month-end and period-end reporting process
  • Producing management accounts, KPI reporting and business performance insights
  • Maintaining the integrity of balance sheet and profit and loss reporting
  • Developing meaningful reporting that enables informed decision-making across the business
  • Supporting the annual budgeting and business planning cycle
  • Partnering with operational leaders and budget holders to improve commercial performance
  • Managing the financial performance of construction and infrastructure projects
  • Monitoring project costs, revenues, margins, accruals and work-in-progress (WIP)
  • Reviewing and validating project forecasts, budgets and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
  • Identifying financial risks and opportunities across project portfolios
  • Producing detailed project performance analysis and recommendations
  • Managing cashflow forecasting and working capital performance
  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of finance professionals
  • Driving continuous improvement across financial processes, systems and controls
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal controls and company policies

About You

You'll be a qualified finance professional with strong project accounting experience and the ability to build credibility across both finance and operational teams.

  • ACCA or CIMA qualification (essential)
  • Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience
  • Previous experience within construction, infrastructure or engineering environments
  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Experience supporting project-based businesses
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical capability
  • Experience reviewing project budgets, forecasts and profitability
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence using finance systems
  • Sage 50 experience would be advantageous
