RTN Mental Health Solutions and our sister company RTN Medical provide high-quality online and in-person mental health and neurodevelopmental diagnostic and management services for children, adolescents, and adults.
We are expanding our psychiatry services to support child and adolescent clients, and are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team on an interim or locum basis. The role involves providing expert psychiatric input for neurodevelopmental assessments (primarily Adult ADHD), contributing to clinical decision-making, and supporting medication initiation and titration. The psychiatrist will also attend at least one monthly MDT meeting. This is a flexible, temporary contract ideal for a clinician looking to work with a purpose-driven, growing service.
Key Responsibilities- Review pre-assessment information and collateral data compiled by the clinical team ahead of each diagnostic consultation.
- Conduct 30-minute diagnostic consultations with patients to explore presenting symptoms, clarify diagnostic indicators, and confirm or rule out an ADHD or neurodevelopmental diagnosis.
- Deliver diagnostic outcomes during the consultation and complete the clinical formulation summary to finalise the report.
- Where appropriate, initiate medication treatment, including writing prescriptions and documenting clinical rationale. An additional 30 minutes is allocated for this, either alongside or separate from the diagnostic consultation.
- Complete annual medication reviews, typically within a 30-minute session, including review of treatment response and ongoing prescribing considerations.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical records in accordance with best practice standards.
- Contribute to monthly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, offering clinical input to support shared decision-making.
- Collaborate with RTN Diagnostics and RTN Medical as part of an integrated ADHD care pathway.
- CCT in Adult Psychiatry
- Full GMC registration with no restrictions or cautions
- Enhanced DBS certificate
- Knowledge and experience in neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g. ADHD, ASD)
- Experience working in NHS neurodevelopmental services
- Experience with remote/telepsychiatry platforms
- ADOS and/or ADI-R trained
