About The Role

RTN Medical is growing, and we’re looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our expanding ADHD service.In this role, you’ll be central to delivering high-quality psychiatric care across the ADHD pathway — from assessment and diagnosis to treatment and post-diagnostic support. You’ll work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure clients receive safe, effective, and person-centred care, with the flexibility to shape your caseload around your specialist strengths and interests. Key Responsibilities

ADHD Assessment & Diagnosis

  • Review pre-assessment information and collateral provided by psychologists and NDPs.
  • Conduct structured psychiatric assessments (e.g. DIVA, ACE) to confirm ADHD diagnoses.
  • Participate in MDT discussions to manage complex cases and finalise diagnostic conclusions.
  • Deliver clear, compassionate feedback to clients and families.

Medication Management & Ongoing Care

  • Initiate, titrate, and monitor ADHD medication in line with NICE and GMC guidelines.
  • Conduct follow-up consultations for treatment review and side-effect monitoring.
  • Work closely with nurse prescribers and other MDT members to ensure cohesive care.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation.

Post-Diagnostic Support

  • Provide ongoing psychiatric input for clients with complex needs or comorbidities.
  • Contribute to integrated care planning and liaise with GPs and external professionals.

Collaboration & Professional Development

  • Attend monthly MDT meetings, CPD sessions, and reflective practice discussions.
  • Support and collaborate with psychologists, nurses, NDPs, and operational staff.
  • Contribute to audits, service evaluation, and development of clinical tools.

About You

Essential

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise in the UK.
  • CCT in General Adult Psychiatry.
  • Section 12 approved
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary clinical setting.
  • Strong knowledge of NICE guidelines, GMC standards, and ADHD care pathways.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Compassionate, person-centred approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Organised, reliable, and committed to continuous professional development.

Desirable

  • Experience working in NHS or private neurodevelopmental services.
  • Experience assessing and treating ADHD across the lifespan.
  • Experience prescribing and titrating ADHD medication
  • Familiarity with ADHD diagnostic tools such as DIVA, ACE, or Conners.
  • Experience delivering remote psychiatric care.
  • Additional training in ADHD diagnostic tools.

Additional Information:

RTN Medical welcomes applications from Consultant Psychiatrists who are on the GMC Specialist Register in General Adult Psychiatry and passionate about advancing excellence in ADHD assessment and treatment. For clinicians with limited ADHD-specific experience, full training, supervision, and mentorship will be provided to ensure confidence and consistency in practice. Where additional training is required, an initially reduced salary may apply, with review and progression as competencies are achieved.
