A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Document Controller to support M&E works on a major construction project in London. This is a site-based role working closely with project, design, and engineering teams to ensure efficient document control across all phases of the project.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain all project documentation using platforms such as Aconex, Asite or similar
  • Ensure accurate document control, including versioning, numbering, and distribution
  • Upload and track drawings, RFIs, technical submissions, and reports
  • Liaise with subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams
  • Support the M&E team with O&M manuals and handover documentation
  • Ensure compliance with QA procedures and audit requirements

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Document Controller within construction or M&E
  • Strong knowledge of document control systems (Aconex, Asite, Viewpoint, etc.)
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced site environment

Desirable

  • Previously worked for M&E company / Construction
  • Familiarity with BIM/document workflows
  • Immediate availability preferred
