About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Mechanical Site Manager to lead and oversee all mechanical works on a large scale commercial construction project. This role is critical in ensuring that mechanical installations are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate will manage site operations, coordinate subcontractors and trades, and ensure all mechanical packages are completed in line with project specifications and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all day to day mechanical site activities, including HVAC, plumbing, pipework, and BMS installations
- Coordinate with project managers, design teams, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades on site
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with project drawings, specifications, building regulations, and industry standards
- Monitor site progress against the construction programme and report on key milestones and delays
- Lead and enforce all health & safety procedures and promote a strong safety culture across site
- Conduct regular inspections, quality checks, and site audits to ensure compliance and workmanship standards are maintained
- Resolve technical and operational issues efficiently, providing practical solutions to maintain progress
- Manage labour, materials, plant, and resource allocation effectively
- Attend site meetings and provide progress updates to senior management and clients
- Support project delivery to ensure completion within programme and budget targets
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager on commercial construction projects
- Strong knowledge of mechanical building services systems, including HVAC, plumbing, pipework, and BMS
- Excellent understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and site coordination
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Relevant mechanical trade qualification or mechanical engineering background
- SMSTS certification required
- First Aid certification required
- Strong understanding of current health & safety regulations and site compliance
- Ability to manage subcontractors and drive programme delivery effectively
