Site Manager - Substation Project

Duration: Minimum 2 years, with up to 10 years of work in the pipeline
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager for a substation project based in Dorset, with an immediate start available. This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term work within the energy and infrastructure sector, with a minimum of two years on the initial project and a wider pipeline of work extending up to 10 years.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site management, ideally with experience across both civil engineering and electrical installation works within substations or similar infrastructure environments.
SSE CAT 1-3 certifications are highly desirable but not essential. Candidates with relevant substation, civils or electrical experience are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate subcontractors, site personnel and project resources.
- Oversee civil engineering and electrical installation activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, RAMS and project specifications.
- Monitor progress against the programme and resolve site issues.
- Maintain accurate site records and project documentation.
- Liaise with the Project Manager, engineers and client representatives.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the project.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within construction, civil engineering or the energy sector.
- SSE CAT 1-3 certifications preferred but not essential.
- Substation experience highly advantageous.
- Experience across both civils and electrical works beneficial.
- Strong health and safety awareness and site management capabilities.
- Ability to coordinate subcontractors and drive project progress.
- Available to start immediately or at short notice.
