A major civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Agent to lead the delivery of a significant heavy civils project in London. The role requires strong leadership, technical capability, and a proven background overseeing complex civil engineering operations. This is an outside IR35 opportunity offering an excellent day rate and long-term continuity on a high-value scheme.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day site operations across heavy civils work packages.
- Manage engineering teams, supervisors and subcontractors.
- Oversee site delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, and to specification.
- Ensure compliance with project quality systems, including ITPs, WPPs, RAMS and site records.
- Drive short-term programming and assist with overall project planning.
- Liaise with the client, designers, stakeholders and internal management teams.
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support across the site.
- Monitor progress, produce site reports, and manage site audits and inspections.
- Ensure strong safety culture, environmental compliance and project governance.
- Manage materials, plant, logistics and resource allocation effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Agent on heavy civils projects.
- Strong background in structures, concrete works, deep drainage, earthworks, highways or large infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of quality systems, construction processes and project controls.
- Confident leading multi-disciplinary site teams and subcontractors.
- Excellent communication, decision-making and leadership skills.
- Competent in interpreting drawings, specifications and engineering information.
- CSCS essential; SMSTS and First Aid preferred.
- Capable of working independently within an outside IR35 engagement.
Whatβs on Offer
- Outside IR35 contract.
- Β£470βΒ£560/day, depending on experience.
