Site Manager - Groundworks Package | Sheffield | Immediate Start
We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a groundworks package on a busy construction project in Sheffield, with an immediate start available.
This is an excellent opportunity for a capable and hands‑on Site Manager to take responsibility for delivering all aspects of groundworks on a live site, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The role will involve managing subcontractors, coordinating site activities, and driving progress in line with programme requirements.
The successful candidate will be confident in managing day‑to‑day operations on a groundworks package, including foundations, drainage, externals, and associated infrastructure works, while maintaining strict control of health, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing all on‑site activities for the groundworks package
- Coordinating subcontractors, labour, plant, and materials
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
- Maintaining full compliance with HSE regulations and site procedures
- Monitoring progress against programme and reporting updates
- Liaising with project managers, engineers, and client representatives
- Carrying out site inductions, toolbox talks, and daily briefings
- Ensuring high standards of quality control and site presentation
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within groundworks or civil engineering
- Strong knowledge of foundations, drainage, externals, and infrastructure works
- Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to manage fast‑paced site environments and subcontractor teams
