About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor on a major highways project based near Perth. This is a long‑term opportunity with a consistent workload spanning multiple years, ideal for an engineer looking for stability, autonomy, and a strong day rate outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out for earthworks, drainage, kerbs, structures, and road construction
- Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and design teams
- Managing QA, as‑built surveys, and ITPs
- Ensuring works are delivered to specification and in line with health and safety standards
- Use of total station, GPS, and AutoCAD for setting out and surveying
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years\' experience as a Setting Out Engineer within civils/highways
- Proficient with GPS and total station equipment (Leica or Trimble preferred)
- Competent in AutoCAD and interpreting engineering drawings
- CSCS card essential; SSSTS/SMSTS advantageous
- Full UK driving licence

- Rate: £270 - £325 per day (CIS / Ltd)
