RTL Group are seeking a Senior Site Engineer on a long term Freelance basis for a major tier one main contractor on a Major Pipeline Project in Peterborough. This is a technically challenging scheme involving deep trenching, large-diameter pipe installation, and significant environmental considerations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead setting out and surveying using GPS and total station
- Ensure works comply with drawings, specs, and QA procedures
- Produce and review method statements, risk assessments, and ITPs
- Manage technical queries and interface with design and client teams
- Oversee subcontractor works and ensure safe, efficient delivery
- Maintain accurate site records and progress reports
- Support temporary works and ensure compliance with permits and consents
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and site operatives
Requirements
- Civil Engineering degree or equivalent
- 5+ yearsβ experience on civils/utilities projects
- Proficient in GPS, AutoCAD, and QA processes
- CSCS (essential), SMSTS and First Aid (desirable)
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Able to work independently and drive progress on site
