Mechanical Site Manager We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Site Manager with a strong mechanical background, ideally with extensive knowledge of pipefitting systems, to support the delivery of a large-scale mechanical installation project. The successful candidate will work alongside our existing Black Hat, providing additional technical knowledge, site leadership and hands-on management of the installation. The Project As the mechanical contractor, we are delivering a major project involving the installation of new Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) to serve existing plantrooms. The main pipework infrastructure is already installed, running from the main steam plantroom, across the roof and down into the existing plantrooms. The system has been hot-tapped into the existing infrastructure, allowing our temporary installation to maintain heating and hot water supplies while each plantroom is stripped back and fitted with new skids. This is a large, complex site with multiple work fronts, requiring someone who can quickly understand the overall system, coordinate site activities and drive the installation through to completion. The Role The Mechanical Site Manager will work closely with the existing site management team to oversee the ongoing installation, coordinate labour and subcontractors, maintain progress across multiple work areas and ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently and to the required technical standards. A key part of the role will be understanding the pipework installation and wider mechanical system, helping resolve technical issues and ensuring the installation is completed, tested and commissioned by December. The Ideal Candidate * Strong mechanical engineering and site management background. * Extensive knowledge of mechanical pipework and pipefitting systems. * Good technical understanding of complex heating and hot water systems. * Experience managing large-scale mechanical installations. * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. * Confident coordinating labour, subcontractors and multiple site work fronts. * A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and driving progress. * Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively alongside an established site team. * Experience with plantroom installations, ASHPs and mechanical commissioning would be advantageous.
