We're recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a major tunnelling and infrastructure scheme in Redcar.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineering-led Project Manager to take ownership of a key package of works on a technically challenging project.
The role is heavily focused on project documentation, health & safety, client management and subcontractor coordination, making it ideal for someone with a strong civil engineering background who enjoys managing projects from both a technical and operational perspective.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of civil engineering and tunnelling packages from planning through to completion.
- Manage subcontractors, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification.
- Act as the main point of contact for the client, attending progress meetings and providing regular project updates.
- Review and approve RAMS, Method Statements, ITPs and quality documentation.
- Ensure all works comply with project specifications, health & safety legislation and company procedures.
- Coordinate engineering teams, supervisors and subcontractors across multiple work fronts.
- Monitor programme, resources and project performance.
- Manage technical queries and liaise with the design team where required.
- Drive quality assurance and ensure project documentation is maintained throughout delivery.
- Promote a positive health & safety culture across the project.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager on major civil engineering, infrastructure or tunnelling projects.
- Engineering background with a strong understanding of construction delivery.
- Extensive experience managing project documentation, including RAMS, ITPs, Method Statements and quality records.
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management experience.
- Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent knowledge of health & safety legislation and construction best practice.
- NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management or equivalent qualification.
- SMSTS and CSCS Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
