Project Manager – Groundworks Location: Chelmsford Start Date: ASAP Duration: Ongoing Rate: Negotiable DOE – Outside IR35 Project Manager – Groundworks – Chelmsford We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a long-term groundworks project in the Chelmsford area. The successful candidate will be working for a large and established groundworks subcontractor alongside one of the UK's largest Tier 1 main contractors. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager looking to work on a major project with a strong long-term outlook. The ideal candidate will have a strong groundworks background, with commercial groundworks experience preferred. Technical competency is particularly important, with the successful candidate expected to be confident using ASTA programmes, producing high-quality drop-line and look-ahead programmes, and maintaining project documentation such as RAMS. Key Responsibilities: * Taking overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the groundworks package * Managing day-to-day construction activities and site operations * Planning, programming and coordinating works to ensure the project remains on programme * Managing and coordinating site teams, subcontractors and suppliers * Liaising with the client, engineers and wider project team * Producing and maintaining drop-line and look-ahead programmes * Updating ASTA programmes * Reviewing and maintaining RAMS and project documentation * Monitoring progress and addressing any delays or issues * Monitoring quality and ensuring works are delivered to the required standards * Ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety requirements * Attending project meetings and providing progress updates * Identifying and resolving issues efficiently to keep the project moving Requirements: * Proven experience working as a Project Manager within the construction industry * Strong groundworks experience is essential * Commercial groundworks experience preferred * Previous experience working for a groundworks subcontractor * Competent using ASTA programmes * Experience producing high-quality drop-line and look-ahead programmes * Strong understanding of RAMS and project documentation * SMSTS – Essential * Black CSCS – Essential * SEATS – Highly advantageous The Opportunity: * ASAP start * Ongoing, long-term project * Negotiable rate depending on experience * Opportunity to work alongside one of the UK's largest Tier 1 main contractors * Opportunity to join an established groundworks subcontractor with further work available If you are an experienced Project Manager with a strong groundworks background and excellent technical and programming capabilities, and you are available immediately or at short notice, please get in touch for further information
