We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee groundworks operations on a major industrial development in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing all site-based groundworks activities, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme.
The Site Manager will lead a workforce of approximately 25–30 operatives and subcontractors, coordinating all aspects of the groundworks package including earthworks, drainage, foundations, roads, utilities, concrete works, and external infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage day-to-day site operations for all groundworks activities.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.
- Coordinate labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors.
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety inspections.
- Monitor progress against programme and report to the Project Manager.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
- Liaise with the client, principal contractor, engineers, and other stakeholders on site.
- Maintain accurate site records, RAMS, permits, and project documentation.
- Identify and resolve site issues to minimise delays and maintain productivity.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within the groundworks and civil engineering sector.
- Strong knowledge of industrial groundworks projects including drainage, foundations, roads, utilities, and external works.
- CSCS Black Card (Ideal).
- SMSTS preferred (SSSTS considered for the right candidate).
- Valid First Aid at Work certificate.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and programmes.
