We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Mechanical Site Manager to join a leading construction contractor on a prestigious residential project in central London. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical installation works, ensuring that all aspects of the mechanical services are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Lead and manage the mechanical installation team, ensuring effective coordination and communication between all trades on site.
- Mechanical Services: Supervise the installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and other mechanical systems for the residential project.
- Quality Control: Ensure all works comply with building codes, regulations, and project specifications, and maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety inspections. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations on site.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor progress of the mechanical works, ensuring they align with the project schedule. Report progress to senior management and address any delays or issues.
- Supplier & Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resources.
- Cost Control: Manage project budgets, monitor expenditure, and identify any potential cost overruns.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve technical and logistical issues to prevent delays and maintain project momentum.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Mechanical Site Manager or in a similar role within the construction industry, specifically with residential projects.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, heating, and ventilation.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively, with excellent communication skills.
- Qualifications: Relevant mechanical or construction management qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or equivalent).
