We are seeking an experienced Mechanical QA Manager to join our project delivery team on a major residential development. This role is responsible for overseeing all mechanical quality assurance activities throughout the construction and commissioning phases, ensuring that installations comply with project specifications, industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory obligations.
The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives to maintain the highest standards of quality across all mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and manage the Mechanical Quality Assurance Plan.
- Monitor and inspect mechanical installations including:
- HVAC systems
- Domestic water services
- Drainage systems
- Heating and cooling systems
- Ventilation systems
- Public health services
- Review technical submittals, method statements, inspection test plans (ITPs), and commissioning documentation.
- Conduct routine site inspections and quality audits.
- Manage inspection and test records, ensuring accurate documentation and traceability.
- Identify quality issues, raise non-conformance reports (NCRs), and track corrective actions through to close-out.
- Coordinate witness testing, commissioning activities, and handover inspections.
- Liaise with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities regarding quality matters.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and project specifications.
- Support project teams in achieving successful quality sign-off and project handover.
- Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Mechanical management role.
- Proven experience delivering residential construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical building services installations and commissioning processes.
- Experience with inspection and testing procedures, quality documentation, and handover requirements.
- Thorough understanding of current building regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Membership of a relevant professional body.
- Experience with digital QA systems and document management platforms.
- Knowledge of BIM and digital construction processes.
- Previous experience on high rise residential developments.
