We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of a major data centre project. This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for programme, commercial performance, quality, safety, and client relationships on a complex, mission-critical development.
The role requires a proven leader with extensive experience delivering large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects for a main contractor or M&E contractor.
Key Responsibilities- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the data centre project
- Take full responsibility for programme, cost, quality, and safety performance
- Lead and manage project teams including construction, commercial, engineering, and commissioning
- Act as the primary point of contact with the client, consultants, and key stakeholders
- Oversee procurement strategy and supply chain performance
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, technical standards, and client specifications
- Drive risk management, value engineering, and change control processes
- Monitor progress against key milestones and ensure successful project delivery
- Oversee commissioning, testing, and final handover of the facility
- Ensure project governance, reporting, and controls are maintained
- Proven experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager on data centre or mission-critical projects
- Strong background working for a main contractor or M&E contractor
- Demonstrated success delivering large, complex projects to programme and budget
- Strong commercial, contractual, and financial management expertise
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- In-depth understanding of construction delivery within critical environments
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and senior project teams
- Direct experience delivering hyperscale or colocation data centres
- Background in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Experience with international or fast-track data centre projects
- Familiarity with commissioning and phased handover strategies
- Professional qualifications such as MCIOB, MAPM, or equivalent
