A leading Main Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality residential developments is seeking an experienced External Envelope Manager to take responsibility for the coordination and delivery of all façade and building envelope works on a prestigious project in Marlow. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a technically strong construction professional with proven experience in envelope systems to join a contractor delivering complex, high-specification residential schemes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the external envelope package from procurement and design coordination through to installation, quality assurance and completion.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, the External Envelope Manager will oversee all façade and envelope-related works, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality delivery in line with the project programme. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Full management and coordination of external envelope works
  • Oversight of façade systems including brickwork, cladding, curtain walling and glazing
  • Management of roofing interfaces and waterproofing elements
  • Coordination of insulation, air/vapour barriers and related build-up systems
  • Sequencing and programming of envelope installation in line with the main construction programme
  • Coordination of specialist subcontractors and façade contractors
  • Review and coordination of technical drawings, design details and installation methodologies
  • Management of interface risks between envelope and other trades
  • Ensuring compliance with all health & safety regulations and site procedures
  • Quality assurance inspections and sign-off of envelope installations
  • Liaison with consultants, engineers and design teams
  • Monitoring progress and reporting against programme requirements
  • Resolving on-site technical and installation issues in a timely manner
  • Supporting commissioning and completion of envelope works for handover

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should possess the following:

  • Proven experience as an External Envelope Manager, Facade Manager or Site Manager with strong envelope exposure
  • Strong residential or mixed-use construction background
  • Excellent knowledge of façade systems including cladding, brickwork, glazing and roofing interfaces
  • Strong technical understanding of construction detailing and buildability
  • Experience managing specialist subcontractors and complex installation sequencing
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage programme-critical packages under pressure
  • Good IT literacy including reporting and programme tracking systems
  • Professional, proactive and detail-focused approach
