We are seeking an experienced MEICA Project Engineer to support the delivery of a multi-year framework focused on large-scale asset maintenance and engineering services across the Northwest. This role is central to managing and executing a portfolio of planned and reactive maintenance projects within the water sector. You will take a lead role in project delivery, working closely with operational teams, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes. The position requires a strong blend of design and delivery experience, with responsibility for overseeing multiple small capital maintenance projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full lifecycle oversight of maintenance projects, from design and procurement through to commissioning and handover.
- Ensure supply chain compliance with framework management requirements.
- Champion a strong safety culture, aiming for zero Lost Time Incidents (LTI) and RIDDOR incidents.
- Maintain a commercial focus, challenging project scope and identifying efficient delivery strategies.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment and support across all project activities.
- Deliver consistent and accurate project performance reporting.
- Identify and manage project and programme risks at an early stage, implementing mitigation strategies.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary projects, including Civil and MEICA works (water sector experience preferred).
- Strong track record in delivering project programmes successfully.
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial principles.
- Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders, supply chain partners, and internal teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and project/document control systems (e.g., Primavera).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- HNC/HND or Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely certification.
- Valid CSCS card.
