About the role
We’re supporting a leading contractor on a large residential apartments development and are looking for an experienced Electrical Site Manager to join the project on a freelance basis. This role is key to ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of all electrical works across a busy multi-unit residential scheme.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all on-site electrical activities, managing electricians and subcontractors
- Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and design information
- Ensure all works are completed to the required quality, compliance, and safety standards
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical installations and maintain strong quality control
- Work closely with the site manager, project manager, and other trade leads to ensure smooth coordination
- Enforce Health & Safety requirements: RAMS, PPE, safe systems of work
- Review testing, commissioning documentation, and ensure compliance with building regulations
- Monitor progress, identify risks or delays, and escalate issues where required
- Support snagging, defect resolution, and handover documentation
- Maintain accurate daily/weekly site records, including labour, materials, and progress reports
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Electrical Site Manager or Electrical Supervisor role
- Proven track record on residential apartment or large-scale accommodation projects
- Valid ECS Gold Card
- SSSTS / SMSTS (preferred for a site manager role)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills
