The Opportunity
Our client, a leading engineering organisation within the nuclear sector, is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their team on a major uranium enrichment FEED project. This is a senior-level position offering the opportunity to take full ownership of the electrical scope on a complex and high-profile programme.
The Role
Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager and/or Electrical Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading all electrical engineering activities. This is a purely electrical role, requiring recent nuclear sector experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for delivery of the electrical scope, including planning, reporting, and change management
- Lead engineering meetings and coordinate delivery across the electrical team
- Support project cost estimates, including CTR development
- Produce, review, and approve a wide range of engineering documentation, including:
- Basis of Design
- Power system and protection studies
- Earthing and lightning protection calculations
- Equipment sizing and load schedules
- Technical specifications, datasheets, SLDs, schematics, and layouts
- Prepare requisitions for key electrical equipment (HV/LV switchgear, transformers, motors, UPS systems, etc.)
- Evaluate supplier quotations and produce technical bid assessments
