We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to support the delivery of major HV transmission projects across the North West, working on behalf of a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering works for National Grid. This is a critical, site-based position where you will take full responsibility for the safe control, operation, and isolation of high-voltage systems on live infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities: * Carry out HV switching operations in line with approved procedures * Issue safety documents, permits, and oversee isolations * Ensure safe energisation and de-energisation of plant and equipment * Act as the Authorising Engineer on site for all electrical safety matters * Work closely with commissioning teams during testing and handover phases * Ensure full compliance with National Grid safety rules and project requirements Requirements: * Current or recent SAP authorisation (National Grid or relevant DNO) * Extensive experience working on HV transmission or substation projects (132kV+) * Strong working knowledge of switching procedures and safety documentation * Proven ability to operate safely in live HV environments Desirable: * Experience supporting commissioning activities on large infrastructure projects * Background working with Tier 1 contractors * Additional authorisations or multi-utility exposure Why Apply? * High-value role within critical UK infrastructure projects * Long-term framework work with strong extension potential * Opportunity to play a key role in the UK’s energy transition and grid upgrade programmes If you are an authorised SAP looking for your next contract, apply now or get in touch for a confidential discussion
