We are seeking an experienced Foreman to oversee the civils package on a major substation project in Thurso. This is a key site-based role, responsible for supervising day-to-day civil engineering works and ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all civils activities on site (earthworks, concrete, drainage, ducting, foundations, etc.)
- Manage gangs, subcontractors, plant, and materials
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, RAMS, and programme
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance
- Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks, and daily activity planning
- Liaise with the Site Manager, engineers, and client representatives
- Record progress, report issues, and assist with short-term planning
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Foreman on civils projects (substation or energy sector experience highly desirable)
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering works and sequencing
- SSSTS or SMSTS (required)
- CSCS card (Gold preferred)
- Good leadership and communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Full UK driving licence
