Freelance Residential Groundworks Site Manager (CIS / Ltd Co) – Location: York – Rate: £280 - £320 per day (CIS / Ltd Company) – Type: Freelance | Contract.
We are recruiting for an experienced Freelance Residential Groundworks Site Manager to manage housing packages across North Yorkshire. This role is offered on a CIS or Ltd Company basis and provides a long-term contract for the right individual.
Responsibilities- Manage all on-site groundworks activities from start to completion
- Oversee drainage, foundations, services, plots, and external works
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, RAMS, and site procedures
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, and client teams
- Maintain accurate site documentation, progress reports, and daily briefings
- Drive programme delivery and quality control
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial groundworks projects
- Valid SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold), and First Aid certification
- Strong understanding of groundworks sequencing and site logistics
- Ability to manage busy, fast-paced construction sites
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Right to work in the UK
- Competitive day rate paid via CIS or Ltd Company
